Absense makes the heart grow fonder!!!!!

What's great about leaving is coming back home. It is always nice to feel missed and loved!! The house is cleaned as if they always clean, doesn't happen!!
eager to hang out and be with you, all together in one place.

Things will get back to normal and I will not know anything again, but for that while when I am the best it is nice!

Getting back to life happens quickly we have sports and play to get back to.

I will miss the fun and the alone time learning, the friends I have made and the time we spent together, The memories cataloged in my mind, where I will cherish them for so long. Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories,

How the others live

Looking as the train passes by you cant help but wonder how the other half lives. as we got closer to Mississippi and Louisiana there was a lot of water. Within these water was houses on stilts, it makes me wonder how these people gets out of these house or where there boat is to travel around. Its a beautiful thought that you are out in the middle of nowhere with the things and the people you love.

With this thought also comes the thought that you are secluded without help incase of emergency how or who would help you.

This Picture to the right shows the road which is higher that the house area, the house was in wetland and up on stilts. so in this instant as long as the area didn't flood the owner could get out for help.

southern hospitality

Southern hospitality, something I have only heard of. Walking off the train, my first impression was humbling. Welcoming coming from all, no one is in a hurry. No one shooing you out of the way. I hate to say it because I am from this area up north in central America, we are in a hurry no matter what we are doing.  We hurry to work, we hurry home, we hurry in the stores and we hurry to go to sleep and wake up. Its as if we are entering an unfound world, not one time on this trip was I hurried. Even the pan handlers were gracious and hospitable, willing to talk for a minute. Happy to shoot the breeze and help you in any way they can. Its shocking that everyone knew that I was going to New Orleans said that I needed to be safe because it is dangerous there. When you are in that area you don't feel unsafe, it is comfortable place to be.

Farwell

The environment is so alive in New Orleans, you can't help but feel alive in that area. I will
forever remember the square for its beauty, not only the beauty in the building but beauty in the people around the square.

I will miss the best coffee in the world, and the great company that comes with it. The peoples spirit of New Orleans is catching and mesmerizing. You cant help but have a continuing smile when you are among them.

CafĂ© Du Monde offers a location where people of all walks of life sit and break bread. You can never feel alone in the positive atmosphere with live entertainment of pan handler, but don't forget to tip and spread the love. So much to eat and so many people to share the left overs with. I cant help but thing that my grandparents, survivors of the depression, would be happy knowing that there were no left overs.
How can you pick one favorite when there was so much. If I must I will pick Jackson square with its rich history and endless amounts of personal flavor.

Nothing better than an early morning walk

you don't see the beauty in the city until you walk alone in the morning. The Sound of Music is gone and all that's left is the remnants of the night before. The crisp cool air is slightly refreshing. Walked up the street daily to catch the tram never noticed that there was a cruise terminal on the other side the beauty of the large ship that houses many people.

Walking up the street daily to catch the  tram, never noticing a cruise terminal on the other side of the cement wall. Taxis line up outside to take the departing passengers to their destinations throughout the Big Easy. Michael Buble plays overhead, feeling nostalgic and bring you back to an era that has long since died.

Katrina

Completely moving and inspirational stories of community heroes. The power of the photos on the walls is moving. Communication is lost, only saviors were those who stayed behind. stories of neighbors helping out neighbor were beautiful.

Tears of survivors moving beyond word can describe.

The shear horror of the scene, how could this be overcome. Why would anyone come back to this location. How could anyone get over the devastation and carry on.

Speaks of the power of the Americans. The picture speaks volumes to the power of the Americans, we will not be blown away by man nor nature.

I read a story of a hospital with backup generators, should of been working and functioning. The generators were located on the roof of the hospital but the fuel used to run them was on the ground under water. The voices on the tape running impact the heart causing great human emotion. SADNESS and FEAR, how did they survive.

Overcoming devastation and growing stronger in the future.

Looking at the World Without makeup

As you walk along the street you see things that you don't see when you're with a group of people.
The beautiful fountains I may have already walked by many times but never noticed!

The building I have walked by many times only to see that the top of the shop is in need of repairs.

The homeless resting there eyes in this early morning light. The shop owners cleaning the nights fun off of the sidewalks.
Finding a small place to rest my feet and have a great cup of coffee in a great atmosphere.
A breakfast farmers omlet that would make our hometown farmers proud.

Walking the sidewalks finding places that have a rich history to make you think about who was in that location before you.

I even saw the dogs getting there early morning walk before there owners depart for work. Wondering if they have ever felt grass underneath their tiny little paws.
