All Jazzed up

New Orleans can be felt through the music. The kind of music that grabs you all the way to the bones and makes you shake whether you want to or not. The roots of this area can be heard along any street in the quarter. This is where it all began, from jazz and blues to rock and roll. The rich African American and Creole culture in Treme is remarkable. Just knowing that so much american history happened in this small area gives me goose bumps. The legendary Congo Square where the enslaved and free people of color met on sundays after to church to drum, dance and trade. Next to that is Armstrong park where legendary statues of musical lie. Interestingly enough finding out the a mental illness such as schizophrenia may have played a part in a new exciting way of playing the trumpet.
